In a world in constant transformation, and especially since the pandemic, how to understand the notion of space ?
The artists presented in this exhibition explore the materiality of this invisible in-between. They offer us new spaces to discover through paintings, installations and in situ interventions, drawings, objects and new media.
Around us, space is invisible: apparently a nothingness that we cannot grasp. Nevertheless, we perceive it consciously and unconsciously, because it determines our relationship with our environment and our fellow human beings. Its nature remains, even today, enigmatic. It is multidimensional, sometimes virtual, both material and energy.
Our current situation has changed our perception of space. We increase the physical distance between us and our loved ones, and at the same time reduce the geographical distances we travel. Public and collective spaces are subject to strong restrictions, while private and virtual spaces become prevalent. We have become aware of the space between us – in its vulnerability but also for its ability to provide us with new benchmarks.
